These designs were for a speculative brief, redesigning the cover and internal illustrations of Tove Janson's 'The True Deceiver'.

The book follows two women in a small Scandinavian village in midwinter, tension grows as one is manipulated by the other and both are rejected by the townsfolk. The main characters were represented by a rabbit and dog , I took this theme and interwove them with the village to elude to the connection between them. For the internal illustrations, I used collagraph printing to reflect the cold and tense atmosphere.
